How to Print

1. Most, if not all, Mini-menus have an option for checking a user’s printed output.  Please select this option.

2. This will display the spooled print file you have created.



3. To print a spooled file, place a ‘2’ in the Option column next to the spool file to be printed. Tab to the command line and enter ‘outq(printername) and press Enter. 

4. After printing, the report will be removed from the output queue.  To save the report after printing, enter the command below, which will print and save the report.


How to Email Documents via ESEND

1. Select ESEND on the minimenu.

2. This will bring up a list of reports from your outq.  Place an ‘E’ next to the report to be emailed, then press Enter.


3. The screenshot below shows the data fields that can be modified.  They are: 


  1. Recipient - email address of the person being sent the report. Separate multiple users with a semi colon 
  2. Subject line – description of the report
  3. Message - text to include in the email
  4. Type of file format for the report (*pdf is usually good for reports).

Press enter to submit.


How to Save a Document in Your OUTQ

1. To save a document in your outq without printing, place a 3 in the option field and press enter.  The screenshots below show before and after ‘holding’ a spool file.

2. The status of the saved spool file will show ‘*HLD’.

PLEASE NOTE:  Spoolfiles are automatically deleted after 30 days, even if saved.



How to Release a Document in Your OUTQ

1. To release a document on hold in your outq, place a ‘6’ in the option field beside the spool file to be released.  Press Enter.


How to Start a Print Writer

1. Go to your printed OUTQ.

2.  The screen displaying spooled files is displayed.  Press F22 to display the printers and their status.  In this example, the printwriter for OPSPRT needs to be started.


3. Place a ‘1’ in the option field next to the printer to start the printwriter and press Enter.

4.  The status shows that the printwriter has started, and the message at the bottom shows that the job has been submitted.
